Kid's Hokkien Workshop & Dragon Boat Festival Celebration
Li Ho! (Hello in Hokkien) My name is Gantang!
Jiak Gantang 吃坎镗 literally means eat potato.
It is a slang used to refer to a person who adopts western culture and lifestyle or describing a Chinese that is unable to converse in his/her mother tongue / dialect language.
Learning a dialect language may be easier for children as compared to adults. Young minds are like a piece sponge, absorbing and grasping new information quickly.
Children learn through playing and interaction. Lessons are conducted in both English & Chinese with translated Hokkien Pinyin notes, pictures, real objects, gestures, demonstrations and fun games.
