K1 - K2 Year End Holiday Workshop
Learn Coding by creating a Haunted House Game!
Have some fun learning to code by creating a Haunted House Pop-Up Book Game.
At the end of the workshop, students will learn the art of game design and create a simple yet interactive game using their creativity and imagination.
Day 1
​
In this session, students will be introduced to Tynker, an educational programming platform aimed at teaching children how to make games and programs.
They will learn how to design a haunted house pop-up book game and brainstorm on their background, characters and how the game characters should interact with each other and the player.
Students will learn how to use event blocks to trigger events/occurrences so as to make their game interactive and fun. They will also learn how to use coding to allow their game characters animate.
Day 2
​
In this session, students will work on creating special effects for their characters in their game. They will also learn how to create speech bubbles for their actors.
This will increase the interactiveness between the player and the game they have created. At the end of this workshop, students will get a chance to showcase and play with their classmates’ creations.
